Job summary

We run meaningful development programmes for talent capacity building, incubator and

accelerator programmes for female founders and are a leading convenor of ecosystem

events for driving transformation for Women in STEM.

Our WomHub innovation centres provide physical space to host programmes and events

as well as grow community and connection for entrepreneurs. They are equipped with

state-of-the-art infrastructure and amenities, offering co-working, dedicated office and

eventing spaces that facilitate meaningful interactions and collaborations for founders

and partners.

About The Role

We are looking for an energetic self- starter to be our Front of House at our Cape Town Hub.

Key Responsibilities

This role is pivotal as a presence in the Cape Town hub, coordinating hub operations,

maintenance and administrative support as well as partnering with suppliers for

impactful events taking place in the hub.

Front Office & Reception Duties

  • Serve as the first point of contact for all guests, partners, and community members, ensuring a warm and professional welcome.
  • Manage the reception area, including incoming calls, emails, deliveries, and walk-in queries.
  • Maintain a brand aligned front-of-house experience at all times.
  • Assist with meeting room bookings, guest coordination, and general enquiries from both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee daily operations and general upkeep of the Hub to ensure a clean, functional, and safe working environment.
  • Coordinate cleaning and office support staff and conduct regular checks to maintain hygiene and operational standards.
  • Monitor and manage hub supplies and consumables
  • Provide general administrative support including data capturing, filing, printing, and managing supplies
  • Take responsibility for consistent monitoring of maintenance issues for the hub
  • Liaise with relevant vendors and contractors for repairs, servicing, or maintenance work.
  • Maintain a maintenance log and schedule for routine checks and servicing (e.g. air conditioning, plumbing, lighting).
  • Support safety and compliance by reporting hazards or breakdowns promptly and ensuring timely resolution
  • Community & Event Support
  • Share communications and updates with the WomHub coworking and programme community when required.
  • Provide logistical support during in-hub events, including preparation, set-up, registration, and clean-up.
  • Support programmes and internal teams with simple event logistics and coordination as needed.
  • Assist in communicating with vendors or suppliers for event requirements.
  • Administration & Reporting
  • Assist with quoting, invoicing, and filing related to hub usage and administration.
  • Maintain accurate records including visitor logs, vendor contacts, maintenance schedules, and operational documentation.
  • Prepare basic reports on hub usage, supplies, and incident reports where needed.
  • This would include maintenance schedules and stock control record keeping ie but not limited to consumables purchases, hub stationery, etc.

Eventing Support:

  • Support key events and relationships with stakeholders

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have the following key skills and requirements:

  • Minimum qualification: Matric and/ or Tertiary Education
  • Minimum of 2 years proven experience in Front Desk/ Events/ Sales
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English (written and verbal), with strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail in all tasks.
  • Strong computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and comfortable with various IT systems.
  • Experience in coordinating team activities
  • Quick learner with a passion for people, impact and an ability to work under pressure.
  • Must be based in Cape Town, South Africa
  • Required to work a minimum of 40 hours a week, including outside office hours if necessary to complete tasks and projects.
  • This is a full time in office based position
