Job description

Duration: Immediate until 28th of February 2025

Reporting to: Clinical Manager

Organisational Background

Centre for Community Impact (CCI) is a non-profit South African organisation based in Pretoria. We aim to be a centre of excellence in strategic health and development communication programs that are centred around meaningful Community Engagement.

Position Summary

To provide comprehensive HIV Counselling and Testing Services in the community to AYP clients according to National Department of Health’s AYP guidelines and protocols. To manage a cluster of AYP Peer Navigators working closely in provision of community-based AYP services.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide HTS services to identified AYP in supported communities.
  • Working closely with the AYP peer group trainers, promote efforts to increase HTS services.
  • Provide Health talks on STI, TB, and HTS prevention and screening of HTS, TB and STI.
  • Ensure MSM tested for HIV are referred to other relevant services.
  • Plan and coordinate AYP outreach events working closely with the Site Coordinator and the AYP peer navigators.
  • Mobilise the AYP community for PrEP uptake.
  • Provide support to established AYP support groups.
  • Develop weekly and monthly plans and reports accordingly.
  • Lead a team of AYP peer navigators in selected communities and provide ongoing supervision, mentoring and coaching.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Professional Nurse.
Qualification and Experience
  • Grade 12 Matric Certificate.
  • HIV/AIDS Counselling Certificate – minimum 10-day Course from an accredited provider.
  • Valid Driver’s Licence.
  • Experience of working with Key populations will be an added advantage.
  • Basic interviewing & probing skills.
  • Good communication, listening and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer literate in MS Office package and ability to utilise a biometric device.
  • Ability to work individually and in a team.
  • Innovative, Creative and Flexible.
  • Ability to engage with Adolescents and Youth in a friendly professional manner.
