About the Role
We are looking for an HTML Developer with a strong interest in gamification and interactive experiences to help build engaging, responsive, and dynamic user interfaces for game-driven products. This role focuses on translating briefs for game mechanics and design concepts into polished, performant front-end experiences.
You will work closely with designers, UX/UI designers, and engineers to implement gamification elements such as progress states, rewards, animations, transitions, and interactive feedback systems.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys turning mechanics into clear, satisfying player experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain interactive, game-like UI components using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for a mobile first environment
- Implement gamification elements such as:
- Progress indicators and meters
- Persistent states (e.g. collected items, activated features)
- Animations, transitions, and visual feedback
- Reward and unlock sequences
- Translate UI and interaction designs into high-quality, responsive layouts
- Work with designers to refine timing, motion, and visual clarity of interactive elements
- Understand and comprehend CMS systems to facilitate the building of the gamification
- Ensure interfaces perform smoothly across all platforms and devices
- Maintain clean, modular, and reusable front-end code
- Debug and optimise interactive elements for performance and stability
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+)
- Experience building interactive UI components, not just static pages
- Solid understanding of CSS animations, transitions, and transforms
- Familiarity with managing UI state and dynamic updates
- Experience with responsive design and mobile-first development
- Ability to work accurately from design mockups and interaction specs
- Comfortable collaborating in a multidisciplinary team environment
Nice to Have
- Experience working on games, gamified products, or interactive media
- Familiarity with canvas, SVG animations, or lightweight animation libraries
- Experience with frameworks or tooling (e.g. React, Vue, or similar)
- Understanding of game UX principles (player feedback, anticipation, reward timing)
- Interest in game mechanics, player psychology, or interactive storytelling
What We’re Looking For
- Someone who thinks in states, progression, and feedback, not just layouts
- Attention to detail in motion, timing, and visual clarity
- A problem-solver who can suggest improvements to interaction flow
- Passion for building experiences that feel responsive, rewarding, and intuitive
- A can-do attitude that allows for context switching from gamification to other player-centric design elements when required
