Salary: R30 – R35 Per Month Negotiable based on Qualification and years of relevant experience.
Requirements:
Diploma in Safety, Health & Environmental (SAMTRAC, NEBOSH or relevant)
3-5 years of HSE experience, ideally within a manufacturing / engineering environment
Knowledge of relevant HSE legislation (OHS Act and Regulations, NEMA, COIDA, etc.)
ISO, ISO Risk management and assessment
Statutory compliance
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Fluency in English is essential
Fluency in Afrikaans and / or iXhosa is advantageous
Own reliable transport and valid driver's license
Responsibilities:
Implement and sustain a positive health, safety, and environmental culture through the application of the management systems framework.
Build strong relationships across functions to ensure understanding of roles and responsibilities in driving a positive health, safety, and environmental culture.
Lead daily health, safety, and environmental operations within the factory, providing support to solve issues related to compliance, risk reduction, incident investigation, contractor safety, emergency preparedness, and environmental sustainability.
Manage contractor safety, including the review and storage of safety files and supporting functions in the collection and review of information.
Plan energy management and reduction according to the Company CO2 reduction vision.
Implement and maintain the ISO Management System.
Drive continuous improvement activities and address gaps identified in audits.
Lead the Behaviour Based Safety program within the Atlantis plant.
Maintain the environmental management system and implement relevant procedures.
Ensure excellent regulatory compliance and achieve business and functional goals from safety and health perspectives.
Conduct regular factory visits to identify areas for improvement, review progress of safety and health programs, clarify priorities, and brief management on safety and health-related issues.
Oversee Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, and Injury Management systems.
Provide guidance and assist in the implementation of the Emergency Response Plan for the facility.
Ensure that all working equipment / machinery is in safe and good condition.
Conduct Risk Assessments and Incident / Accident Investigations.
