HSE Officer - Telecoms Division
A leading facilities company is looking to appoint a HSE Officer within the telecoms division who will be responsible for supporting the County Leads of an Integrated Management System and client SHEQR contractual obligations.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and support the Integrated Management System.
- Ensure Sub-Contractor HSE Compliance.
- Conduct Site Inspections (Warehouses, Workshops, BTS work areas, etc.).
- Facilitate communication, training, awareness, and medical surveillance.
- Prepare IMS Reports.
- Manage HSE Work Orders.
- Maintain Client Relationship Management.
- Perform contractual and IMS audits/inspections.
- Update relevant systems and institute corrective actions.
- Ensure overall HSE compliance in the region.
Qualifications
- Preferably tertiary qualifications such as a three-year technical diploma.
- Quality Management Qualification.
- Health & Safety Management Qualification.
- Environmental Management Qualification.
- Risk Management Qualification.
- Professional registration (e.g., SACPCMP registered as CHSO or SAIOSH) is an advantage.
- Valid Code B Driver's License.
Experience
- Planning experience and understanding of business processes.
- 1-2 years' experience in HSEQR Management.
- 2-3 years' experience in construction-related work.
Technical / Core Training
- Excellent knowledge of IMS documentation and record control.
- ISO standards and internal auditing.
- Knowledge of Facilities Management domain and relevant regulatory standards.
- Familiarity with field operations procedures and processes.
IT Skills
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SAP, SharePoint.
- Experience with Health and Safety Management Software, Web Fleet software.
- Health, Safety, and Environmental training such as SAMTRAC or equivalent.
Legal and Risk Knowledge
- Understanding of OHS Act, regulations, and environmental legislation.
- Health, Safety, Environmental Risk Assessment or equivalent.
- Legal liability, fall arrest, basic rescue, fall protection, and defensive driving.
