About The Role

Job Purpose

We are seeking a Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager at our Brits Manufacturing plant in South Africa. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining HSE standards and strategies, ensuring legal compliance, mitigating risks, and fostering a safety and environmental culture across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, implement, and maintain HSE operational standards addressing occupational, environmental, and quality risks.
  • Ensure effective incident/accident reporting and risk mitigation.
  • Coordinate HSE activities and report on performance.
  • Develop and monitor HSE strategies, policies, and programs.
  • Identify significant environmental impacts and occupational safety risks, ensuring compliance with legislation.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives within HSE operations.
  • Conduct HSE audits and assessments, resolve non-conformities.
  • Advise on training and education programs to improve HSE performance.
  • Implement strategies to reduce asset loss through security management.
  • Ensure legal compliance.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Certification in SAMTRAC/SHEMTRAC.
  • ISO 14001 & 5001 certification preferred.
  • GMR2 certification beneficial.
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in HSE Management Systems.
  • Experience in manufacturing, preferably automotive industry.
  • 4 years leadership experience.
