Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join their team in Johannesburg, supporting their division. The HR Business Partner (HRBP) delivers a Human Resources service within an allocated portfolio by implementing people management initiatives that are in line with business strategies, operational requirements, and the company values. The work is done through partnering with key stakeholders and business partners to build a capable workforce and create a positive environment for employees. The HRBP is a key resource in recommending appropriate actions to business.

Responsibilities:

  1. Management of daily HR related queries.
  2. Partner with business to find sound and fair solutions.
  3. General employee support and query handling – enhance the people experience.
  4. Address IR related issues and queries as per company disciplinary code and procedures.
  5. Provide IR guidance to business and assist with investigations where necessary.
  6. Assist business in drafting required documentation.
  7. Represent the business at the CCMA.
  8. Ensure all processes and action plans are consistent and fair.
  9. Manage, co-ordinate and monitor the performance appraisal process to drive high performance.
  10. Support managers and team members with general queries related to PM.
  11. Bi-annual calibration and moderation processes conducted.
  12. Oversee, monitor and report on high and low performers.
  13. Develop the necessary plans required for IR and Talent Management.
  14. Implement, drive and monitor the TM process.
  15. Report on Talent Management progress and Plans.
  16. Consolidate the Talent Maps into business specific talent plans.
  17. Consolidate the PDP’s – submit learning requirements to L&D.
  18. Implement and monitor Rewards and Remuneration programme for business.
  19. Ensure accurate documentation is sent through to Payroll within agreed deadlines and follow-up on queries and outstanding issues.
  20. Ensure accurate submission of commissions / incentives for retail staff.
  21. Action all HR related administration timeously i.e. new engagements, terminations, employee movement processes and submit relevant documentation to payroll.
  22. Manage all employee insurance and benefits claims.
  23. Ensure proper filing, document management and good maintenance for all Retail & Head Office employees.
  24. Manage end to end recruitment process as per company recruitment procedure.
  25. Manage vacancies in line with blueprint, succession plans and external talent maps; continuously building an active talent pool of high calibre candidates.
  26. On boarding and inducting new staff.
  27. Ensure all new policies and procedures are implemented as per roll-out plans.
  28. Coach and train employees on policies and procedures.
  29. Support HR Team with ad-hoc projects and culture-driven initiatives as required.
  30. Actively drive usage of all online learning platforms.
  31. Manage and update vacancy reports.
  32. Manage and update IR reports.
  33. Compile monthly / quarterly / ad-hoc HR reports.
  34. Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and business partners.
  35. Travel to stores to provide on-site support to retail teams.
  36. Work in collaboration with other Head Office departments to drive and execute overall people operational plan.

Qualifications:

  1. HR diploma / degree.
  2. At least 3 years relevant experience (must have IR / CCMA and recruitment experience).
  3. Previous retail experience an advantage.
  4. Must have own vehicle and valid driver’s license - Must be willing to travel.
  5. Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  6. Working knowledge of MS Office / Excel / PowerPoint.
