We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our team as a HR Practitioner (Sunbake) within our BBR operating unit in Pietermaritzburg.
The role's purpose is to provide effective Human Resources support to the business unit/factory through adequate delivery of HR services, practices, and procedures.
Minimum Requirements
- National Diploma / Degree in Human Resource Management
- Valid Code EB driver’s license
- Own vehicle for site visits
- At least 3-5 years’ experience as an HR generalist
Duties & Responsibilities
Employee Relations
- Provide advice to line managers regarding conduct and misconduct management processes.
- Investigate and process disciplinary cases and grievances.
- Review practices to ensure statutory compliance and provide guidance to line managers.
- Participate in consultations with organized labor.
- Coach line managers on effective disciplinary hearings.
- Manage employee wellness programs, including clinics and meetings.
- Represent the organization at CCMA and Bargaining Council.
- Chair monthly meetings with Shop Stewards.
Resourcing
- Process recruitment permissions and offers of employment.
- Ensure timely job advertisement and tracking on eRecruitment.
- Conduct interviews and assessments for C Band and lower positions.
- Supervise new employee orientation.
- Manage employee evaluations and terminations.
- Maintain relevant and updated job profiles and coordinate job evaluations.
Talent Management
- Coach line managers on performance management and talent review processes.
- Facilitate reviews and coordinate performance appraisals.
- Drive succession planning and employment equity targets.
Health and Safety Compliance
- Manage IOD/minor injury processes and reporting.
- Assist in monitoring IOD cases.
- Maintain HR records, analyze metrics, and report trends.
- Develop and manage employee compensation and payroll in compliance with policies.
- Identify training needs and coordinate development programs.
Organizational Design
- Collaborate with line managers on organizational proposals and updates.
- Manage organizational structures on SAP and implement change initiatives.
Training Development
- Develop training matrices and facilitate HR training sessions.
- Drive development plans for employees in C Band positions.
Employment Equity
- Prepare quarterly reports and participate in EE meetings.
- Engage with line managers to meet staffing KPIs.
HR Administration
- Manage onboarding, terminations, and exit interviews.
- Ensure data integrity in HR systems.
- Advise management and employees on HR policies and employment matters.
- Handle reports, surveys, and compliance issues.
