Qualifications

  • 2+ years payroll processing experience.
  • Proven experience with Sage VIP Premier or similar.
  • Working knowledge of the SARS eFiling system.

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing.
  • Support HR operations and employee lifecycle.
  • Maintain digital employee records compliant with POPIA.

Job description

We're seeking a detail-oriented HR & Payroll Assistant to manage our end-to-end payroll processing and support HR operations. This hybrid role offers the perfect balance of remote flexibility and in-office collaboration, ideal for professionals who thrive in structured yet adaptable environments.

Payroll Management

  • Process accurate weekly / monthly payroll using VIP SAGE
  • Calculate and submit PAYE, UIF, SDL, and EMP201 returns via SARS eFiling
  • Prepare and distribute IRP5 / IT3(a) tax certificates annually
  • Reconcile payroll reports with Finance Department
  • Manage employee benefits administration (pension, medical aid, garnishee orders)

HR Administration

  • Assist full employee lifecycle processes (onboarding to offboarding)
  • Maintain POPIA-compliant digital employee records
  • Support recruitment by scheduling interviews and preparing offer packs
  • Essential Requirements

  • National Diploma / Degree in HR Management, Finance or related field
  • 2+ years payroll processing experience
  • Proven experience with Sage VIP Premier / Pastel Payroll or similar
  • Working knowledge of SARS eFiling system
  • Proficient in MS Excel
  • Thorough understanding of BCEA, LRA, EE Act and POPIA
  • Bargaining Council experience advantageous
