Job description

Curious about people, what makes a great workplace, and how HR can make a real difference?

At the heart of the role is something simple: understanding what our people and our business need and helping to find the right way forward. You'll provide consistent, efficient, and compliant HR support that helps our operational teams deliver against Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and client commitments, while creating a positive experience for our people.

What you'll be doing
  • Be a trusted first point of contact for everyday HR queries, providing clear, practical, and timely support.
  • Guide and coach operational managers through employee relations matters, including absence management, conduct, grievances, and performance improvement.
  • Build strong working relationships with managers and our people, taking the time to understand operational needs and find practical solutions.
  • Coach line managers on applying performance management principles fairly and consistently, working in partnership with Performance and Development.
  • Provide commercially focused advice on employee relations matters, including disciplinary processes, grievances, and sickness absence, in line with our procedures and relevant employment legislation.
  • Produce monthly HR reports and turn people data into clear insights and recommendations that help Heads of Department make informed decisions.
  • Work closely with Management Information (MI) to understand trends around turnover, sickness absence, and costs, asking what's behind the numbers and where we can make things better.
  • Support HR projects and initiatives that help our business evolve, including restructuring, change management, and wider Group HR initiatives.
  • Look for opportunities to make our HR processes simpler, smarter, and more effective for our people and operational teams.
What you'll bring

We're interested in more than ticking boxes. You'll have solid HR foundations, but you'll also be someone who asks questions, builds relationships, and looks for better ways of doing things.

You'll bring:

Two to three years' HR-related experience.

  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship‑building skills.
  • A solid understanding of HR practices, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, and day‑to‑day HR query management.
  • Experience supporting multiple line managers or areas of the business in a fast‑paced operational environment.
  • Experience within the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry would be an advantage.
Professional Know-how:
Qualifications

Grade 12 / Matric.

  • A bachelor's degree in human resource management or industrial psychology is essential.
  • Registration with the South African Board for People Practices (SABPP) or Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA), where applicable, would be advantageous.
What will help you thrive
  • You're naturally curious. You want to understand the why, not just the what, and you're comfortable challenging the status quo when there could be a better way.
  • You'll also bring:
  • A strong understanding of South African employment law and HR best practice, with the ability to research and understand requirements across relevant local jurisdictions.
  • A good understanding of the full people lifecycle and how HR decisions influence both our people and business performance.
  • The ability to spot opportunities to improve cost effectiveness and operational efficiency.
  • A good understanding of HR governance, reporting requirements, data accuracy, and effective record management.
  • An understanding of organisational development and change management principles would be advantageous.
  • The confidence to influence key decision‑makers and constructively challenge when something could be done differently.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities, work well under pressure, and use your own initiative.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong reporting and analytical skills, with the curiosity to look beyond the numbers and understand what they're telling us.
  • A collaborative, practical approach and a genuine interest in helping our people and our business succeed.
