HR Officer - Durban

Salary: R35-40K CTC | Permanent with benefits

Purpose of Position: Complement Recruitment is seeking a Human Resources (HR) Officer for a permanent role based in Durban, eThekwini, KwaZulu-Natal.

Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, and Skills
  • Minimum Grade 12 Certificate
  • HR Degree or Diploma
  • Relevant HR generalist experience (minimum 5-10 years) in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with remuneration systems (knowledge of tax)
  • Computer literacy: MS Office, Sage, Pastel, Oracle
  • Own transport; able to work extended hours if required
  • Reside close to Pinetown, PMB, Cato Ridge, Umlazi

Responsibilities
  • Audits: Responsible for HR audits including payroll and compliance audits, liaising with auditors, and ensuring standards are met.
  • Recruitment & Selection: Conduct recruitment per company policies, prepare offers, source solutions, and conduct market benchmarking.
  • Onboarding: Complete onboarding documents, update HRMS and payroll systems.
  • Employee Termination: Manage exit processes, finalize documentation, and coordinate with benefit providers.
  • Time & Attendance: Oversee system, resolve exceptions.
  • Medical & Pension: Conduct audits, liaise with providers, maintain accurate records.
  • Injury on Duty (IOD): Manage reporting, claims, and worker's compensation files.
  • Payroll: End-to-end processing, maintenance, queries, reporting, and statutory compliance.
  • Employee Wellness & Events: Plan wellness initiatives, staff days, medicals, and coordinate events.
  • 5S Initiative: Support visual standards, audits, and work area maintenance.
