The Role

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

HR Administrator

  • Act as key liaison to all stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of HR administrative processes
  • Provide administrative support to HR related projects or change initiatives as required
  • Identify and address opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency and quality of HR administration processes
  • Ensure consistent compliance to and communication of relevant HR policies and procedures to employees
  • Provide a wide range of administrative support across all HR functions (Remuneration and Benefits, payroll, etc.)
Manage Personnel and Administration
  • Resolve basic personnel admin queries received from employees and other HR staff
  • Administrate inbound and outbound correspondence – incl. preparation of standard letters and reports, processing of paper forms submitted by employees, etc.
  • Maintain HR / personnel records - incl. filing, archiving, scanning (as per standard process in respective asset).
  • Manage fund benefit queries and claims related to incapacity process.
Reporting & Master Data Management
  • Manage employee data from site and assist in updating on the system e.g. address, next of kin etc.
  • Provide administrative support for Rewards & Recognition process (incl. Operation production bonus files for confirmation of employee lists).
  • Assist employee with UI19
  • Submit requests for employee data in 1SAP and provide related administration support.
Query Management and Employee Relations
  • Process standard employee queries and collaborate with all key stakeholders, monitor progress, track completion, and inform about outcomes.
  • Perform payroll related administration queries (e.g., Absence quotas) as required
  • Provide HR Coordinators with relevant information and insight related to employee queries or grievances that enable more effective case management and good employee relationships.
  • Administrate employee surveys as required.
  • Receive, file, and manage employee documentation – individual filing as per the standard.
  • Manage the operations filling room.
  • Administrate documents for incapacity, employee medical records.
  • Follow up with the fund process as well as with employees on outstanding documentation, receive letters.
Requirements
  • Diploma in Human Resources or occupationally directed ETD Practice in a similar field
  • 2 years’ experience in Human Resources with a Degree or Diploma or 10 years relevant experience
  • Experience in relevant HR sub-functions with basic knowledge of mining and relevant legislation including: Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act; Mine Health and Safety Act; BBBEE Act, 2003; Minerals Codes of Good Practices; Mining Charter; Labour Relations Act, 1995; Basic Conditions of Employment Act, 1997; Employment Equity Act, 1998; Skills Development (and Levies) Act, 1998; Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993
  • Experience in recruitment and selection processes
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Knowledge of HR theories, principles, and benchmarks
  • Sound knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and legislative compliance
  • Conflict management skills
  • Report writing skills
  • Computer literacy: MS Office and SAP/SAGE
  • Valid driver’s license
  • In possession or able to obtain a valid Certificate of Fitness
Advantageous
  • Degree/National Diploma or equivalent in Information Management/Human Resources Development/Industrial Psychology (NQF Level 7)
