About the role

We are seeking a Benefits Officer to manage daily administration and advisory activities supporting RBM employee benefit programs.

The role requires strong planning, administrative/support skills, benefits experience, and the ability to work independently.

Reporting to the HR Manager and collaborating within the HR department, you will:

  • Support employees, HR, and leaders with benefits-related activities such as special leave requests, share plans, education grants, medical aid, provident fund, and disability fund.
  • Maintain regular contact with employees and external service providers.
  • Attend trustee meetings, take notes, and provide feedback.
  • Manage the distribution of death benefits and related activities.
  • Coordinate and advise on ill health/disability absences, processing related claims or requests.
  • Follow up promptly and provide necessary information for decision-making.
  • Guide employees on benefit options, plans, and processes.
  • Maintain and update employee records and systems.
  • Monitor benefits activities such as annual option changes.
  • Collaborate with HR, leaders, clinics, and external parties for effective communication and action.
  • Facilitate employee benefits induction for new hires.
  • Conduct investigations related to benefit distribution.

What you’ll bring

  • Degree or Diploma in Human Resources or related field.
  • Valid driver’s license and own vehicle.
  • At least 3 years proven experience in benefits administration.
  • Understanding of benefit plans, procedures, and local regulations.
  • Knowledge of Section 37C of the Pension Funds Act.
  • Experience with SAP HR is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and data analysis.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with high attention to detail.
  • Reliability and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in iSizulu is essential.
