About the Role

The HR Officer plays a pivotal role in delivering outsourced HR services to a diverse range of clients.

This role demands high proficiency in employee relations and CCMA processes, as well as the ability to manage the full HR function across multiple industries.

The HR Officer must demonstrate initiative, maintain strong client relationships, and contribute to business development where possible.

Responsibilities
  1. Employee Relations and CCMA
  2. Lead and manage disciplinary processes, grievances, and incapacity investigations.
  3. Draft and issue notices, chair or initiate hearings, and prepare documentation for CCMA matters.
  4. Represent clients at the CCMA (conciliation and arbitration stages).
  5. Provide expert advice on misconduct, poor performance, retrenchments, and procedural compliance.
HR Generalist Services
  1. Draft, implement, and manage employment contracts, policies, and procedures.
  2. Assist the recruitment division with recruitment processes.
  3. Support onboarding processes.
  4. Support performance management frameworks and advise on development plans.
  5. Manage employee lifecycle processes including terminations, probation, and contract reviews.
  6. Ensure compliance with South African labour laws and sectoral determinations.
Client Relationship Management
  1. Maintain positive, professional relationships with existing clients.
  2. Provide proactive, solution-oriented support to meet client-specific HR needs.
  3. Follow up regularly with clients to ensure satisfaction and service continuity.
  4. Assist with HR audits and reporting as needed.
Business Development (Advantageous)
  1. Identify opportunities for new client acquisition.
  2. Attend networking events or forums to promote services.
  3. Contribute to marketing materials and presentations.
Remote and Onsite Service Delivery
  1. Work independently from home with minimal supervision.
  2. Travel to client premises as required.
  3. Provide support to the team and HR department.

Candidate Requirements

  • National Diploma or Degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license and own reliable transport.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and cloud-based HR systems; knowledge of SimplePay is an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years' HR generalist experience, with at least 3 years in employee relations and CCMA representation.
  • Experience in consulting or servicing multiple clients preferred.

Skills and Competencies

  • Deep knowledge of Labour Relations Act, BCEA, EEA, and related HR legislation.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple client accounts.
  • Professionalism and discretion in handling sensitive matters.
