HR Officer position available in Cape Town.

Our retail client is looking for an Ambitious early-career HR professional – HR Officer with 2–4 years’ experience as an HR Generalist to support stores across Cape Town.

Are you an HR professional with retail experience ready to step into a true business-partnering role? If you’ve grown from an in-store retail position into HR within a retail environment, this opportunity is for you.

Salary: R20 000 to R30 000 Basic + benefits (Medical aid, Provident fund, cell allowance) + company vehicle and fuel card.

Work Hours: 08h00 – 17h30 (Mon to Fri) – Alternative weekend worked required a couple of hours.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric and BCom HR (or equivalent)
  • Retail industry experience is essential
  • 3–4 years overall HR experience, including 3+ years as an HR Generalist
  • Labour Relations/IR expertise, including CCMA representation
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Valid driver’s license (attach a copy with your application); able to travel to stores across Cape Town
  • Willing to work a few hours every other weekend

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Area and Store Managers to deliver end-to-end HR support (talent acquisition, development, training, and IR)
  • Lead recruitment and selection for store-based roles
  • Execute Group HR strategy across the region
  • Conduct weekly in-store visits, including scheduled weekend visits
  • Facilitate in-house virtual training programmes
  • Oversee HR administration (time & attendance, leave, headcount, and manpower costs)
  • Manage labour relations matters and represent the company at the CCMA
