We are seeking a hands-on and experienced HR Manager (half day)to join our team in the manufacturing sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the full HR function, with a strong focus on recruitment, compliance with MEIBC, payroll, training, employee relations, and B-BBEE processes. The working hours will be from 07:30am - 13:00pm
- Managing the recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and assist in making hiring decisions.
- Handling employee inquiries, addressing conflicts, dealing with disciplinary process and ensuring a positive work environment.
- Ensuring adherence to labour laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Developing and implementing yearly training programs such as training needs analysis, workplace skills plan, skills matrix to improve employee skills and knowledge, training for BBBEE.
- Keeping employee files up to date, making sure contracts are provided to new employees, requesting and following up of relevant employee information / documentation, capturing leave forms, sending out daily clock in reports, providing Operations Director and Production Manager with weekly overtime reports.
- Drafting of employee performance forms for all departments, providing feedback, and keeping track of all performance reviews.
- Analysing workforce needs, developing succession plans, and ensuring adequate staffing.
- Tracking and analysing HR data to identify trends and inform decisions.
- Administering payroll inputs and approving monthly payrolls.
- Effectively communicating HR policies and procedures to employees and management.
Requirements· Grade 12 qualification.
· Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, or a related field.
· 5+ years of experience in HR, with a focus on recruitment and employee relations.
· Proven experience within the manufacturing/engineering sector.
· Strong knowledge of employment/labour law and regulations.
· Experience in working in a unionised environment, dealing with any MEIBC issues, developing HR policies, and working in a fast-paced environment.
· In-depth knowledge of MEIBC, MIBFA, and relevant labour legislation.
· Solid understanding of payroll, training, employee relations, and B-BBEE.
· Experience liaising with bargaining councils and managing industry-specific compliance
· Strong administrative, interpersonal, and communication skills.
· Ability to handle union relations and EE compliance effectively.
