We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager for a leading company in the FMCG industry based in Johannesburg South. The successful candidate will oversee the entire HR function for the group of companies.
Position Requirements:
- BCom in Human Resources or a related field
- Honours degree in BCom is advantageous
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in a similar role
- Proven leadership skills to guide the HR team
- Experience in a relevant environment is preferred but not essential
- Knowledge of change management is a plus
- Empathetic towards staff needs with the ability to enforce discipline
- Proficiency in MS Office applications
- Strong coaching skills to maximize staff potential
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent planning and initiative skills
- Hands-on approach and active management style
- Good organisational skills with deadline orientation
- Logical thinking at an advanced level
- Energetic, committed, and self-reliant personality
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage compensation, benefits, employment, and employee relations programs
- Contribute to business planning with senior management
- Maintain strong relationships with unions and shop stewards
- Lead union salary negotiations and amend collective agreements
- Handle disciplinary and grievance procedures in compliance with legislation
- Represent the company at the CCMA when required
- Coach managers and supervisors on employee issues
- Identify training needs and deliver development programs
- Maintain employee skills audit files
- Implement induction and orientation programs
- Develop succession planning and talent management strategies
- Foster a performance management culture and monitor KPIs
- Manage pension contributions and claims processing
- Oversee pension fund liaison and review policies regularly
- Prepare and control the HR budget
- Update employment equity plans and submit reports timely
- Manage BBBEE status and conduct benchmarking against industry norms
- Attract and retain talent through effective recruitment processes
- Ensure proper exit procedures including exit interviews
- Manage grant applications within SETA guidelines
- Stay informed on relevant legal and legislative changes
- Support organizational design and long-term planning
