A leading company in the agricultural sector is seeking an HR Manager to oversee HR operations. The role involves enhancing operational efficiency, leading changes for innovation, and fostering a high-performance culture. The ideal candidate will possess extensive HR experience and a strong understanding of HR laws and employee relations.
Minimum requirements for the role : Must have a Bachelors Degree in HR or Business AdministrationMinimum 5+ years HR Management experiencePrevious experience within a manufacturing environment would be a great advantageProven organizational, planning and prioritization skills to ensure proper and timely completion of projectsIn depth knowledge and experience in HR laws, compliance, employee relations and conducting investigationsExperience leading HR teams and collaborating with other business functions to implement change activities that drive innovation, enhance employee relations, operational excellence, and competitive advantageExcellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving and conflict resolution skillsAbility to handle sensitive and confidential informationExperience with HR software (Sage X3, People, Workday) is essentialThe successful candidate will be responsible for : Overseeing the daily activities of the HR department, while designing, monitoring, and improving HR processes, policies, and technologies to enhance operational efficiency in alignment with company objectives.Providing HR-related reports and analytics to leadership on employee performance, staff turnover, productivity, and other HR metrics.Reporting on labour-related trends and developments.Preparing and implementing HR budgets.Supporting and facilitating the leadership team with culture initiatives to foster an inclusive and high-performance culture, aligned to the companys values and winning mindsets.Implementing employee engagement initiatives to promote job satisfaction, employee wellbeing, and retention.Reviewing job descriptions and organizational structures to ensure accuracy and relevance.Assisting in planning related to workforce needs, succession planning, talent development, and organizational structure.Conducting routine job postings, candidate screenings, interviews, background checks, and issuing job offers.Supporting line managers throughout the recruitment process.Implementing appropriate approval processes for the filling of vacancies.Facilitating onboarding and offboarding processes.Leading the employee experience from onboarding to offboarding, including communicating employee benefits, identifying improvement opportunities, conducting exit interviews, and analyzing relevant data.Supporting line management in employee-related matters, including talent management, performance management, and disciplinary procedures.Implementing and maintaining performance management processes, including reviews, feedback, and objective setting aligned with company goals.Working with line managers to identify training and development needs.Monitoring employee progress and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.Acting as the primary contact for union engagement, building strong relationships with all stakeholders.Managing employee changes and processes impacting payroll functionality.Administering employee benefits programs including medical aid, retirement funds, and wellness initiatives.Conducting salary benchmarking and ensuring internal alignment with job gradings.Ensuring legal and regulatory compliance on all employee-related legislation (Labour Act, Employment Equity Act, etc.
Maintaining accurate HR records and documentation, including employee files and compliance forms.Advising leadership on legal matters related to employee rights, terminations, and workplace policies.Advising leadership on legislative changes and assessing potential business impacts.Please note that subsequent to the screening and shortlisting process, all further communication will be entered into only with the shortlisted candidates.
