Position Overview:
- The HR Generalist will perform HR-related duties across all levels of the organization.
- Location: Century City, Cape Town
- Permanent, full-time
- Hybrid position
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversees People Operations processes, which include conducting and implementing new hire onboarding, offer letter generation, background check administration, mandatory training management, and follow-up
- Acts autonomously to provide HR policy guidance and interpretation
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of Employment law and legal requirements related to the day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Partners with the legal advisors as needed
- Supports the HR Manager and Benefits Team with employee benefit questions and administration
- Resolves conflicts and provides coaching and counseling on human resources matters for persons or groups within a defined organization or function
- Guides training needs assessments and participates in training activities and special projects.
- Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions).
- Manages the administration of and adherence to human resources policies and procedures; advises organizational and functional leadership on compliance with key legislative requirements.
- Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Maintains HR records and employee files,and ensures handbooks are both current and compliant to applicable labor laws
- Will serve as the primary point of contact for employee leave management
- Creates, maintains, and updates Employee handbooks
- Manages Immigration procedures and law, partnering with legal counsel as needed
- Reviews firm’s benefits plans and assists in any benefit renewals and required government filings.
- Vendor Relationship Management
Supports with various HR Projects and events, including, but not limited to:
- Employee Engagement
- Corporate Wellness Initiative
- Performance management
- New Entity Set-up
- Completes the offboarding process for internal and external resources, including but not limited to exit interviews
Knowledge & Skills:
- Knowledge of labor law
- Technically proficient with strong skills in Outlook, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint
- A Bachelor’s degree
- 3-5 years’ experience in Human Resources.
- Experience with multi-state employee relations and benefits administration required
- Ability to work independently and autonomously with minimal supervision
- International experience preferred
- SHRM-CP or HRCI certification preferred
- ADP Workforce Now, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
- Bullhorn or other ATS product knowledge
- Background in the Staffing and Recruitment industry preferred
- Strong sense of proactivity and independence
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong work ethic and accountability
