HR Generalist

Our client, a leader in supplying mining industry equipment, has a vacancy for a proactive HR Generalist based at their office in Kempton Park.

The purpose of the role is to support Industrial Relations and drive the ER and HR strategy of the plant while ensuring consistent employee experiences.

Responsibilities
  1. Maintaining regular meetings with employees and providing daily local support.
  2. Managing key People & Sustainability processes related to the employee lifecycle, such as PDR, people sessions, and development plans.
  3. Providing advisory services to employees on topics such as engagement, succession planning, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans.
  4. Proactively seeking and resolving issues involving employees, their leaders, and unions (where applicable).
  5. Recommending and suggesting improvements in productivity.
  6. Ensuring compliance with labour laws and regulations, supporting meetings with unions and collective bargaining agreements as required (and when applicable).
Qualifications and Experience
  1. National Diploma in HR or equivalent.
  2. 3-5 years of industry experience, including 2 years of recruitment experience and at least 1 year of general HR administration.
  3. Understanding of payroll processes.
  4. Previous experience with MEIBC and main agreements.
  5. Ability to work with trade unions.
  6. Working knowledge of BCEA, LRA, and Skills Development Act.
