Job description

Purpose of the role:

Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer (COO), the People and Culture Lead is a strategic business partner to the Executive and Leadership Team. Responsible for the day-to-day running of the People function across the business.

Responsibilities

  1. Implement HR strategy aligned with the overall business strategy in partnership with management.
  2. Assist management proactively in implementing HR services and processes such as Performance Management, Recruitment, Onboarding, Remuneration, etc.
  3. Lead specific projects supporting HR and business objectives.
  4. Ensure the accuracy of all employee data stored in HR information systems.
  5. Maintain effective record-keeping of all HR-related information.
  6. Provide management with insights through HR metrics analysis.
  7. Handle all legislative reporting requirements, including EE, BBBEE, WSP, and ATR.
  8. Support line management in forecasting and planning workforce needs within the approved budget.
  9. Promote employee engagement, feedback, and foster a positive organizational culture.
  10. Offer expert advice and coaching to employees and management as needed.
  11. Facilitate conflict resolution sessions when necessary.
  12. Manage employee relations cases and follow through on resolutions.
  13. Handle disciplinary processes end-to-end in coordination with line management and represent the employer at CCMA on assigned cases.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Relevant tertiary education in Human Resources Management, Psychology, or Industrial Psychology.
  2. Minimum of 5 years experience in a senior HR role.
  3. Proven experience in Industrial Relations, including dealings with the CCMA.
  4. Strong knowledge of labor laws and people-related policies.
  5. Experience in change management and culture development.
