Job description

Introduction
This position will be based at the Kropz Plant in Elandsfontein,in the Saldanha Bay Municipality area in the Western Cape.

Description
The HR Business Partner (HRBP) will serve as a strategic partner to the site leadership, ensuring that HR practices and strategies align with operational goals. The HRBP will support workforce planning, employee relations, compliance, talent development, and performance management, specifically tailored to the mining environment in line with South African labour legislation and industry best practices.

Qualification Requirements
  • Matric (Grade 12) or an equivalent qualification registered at NQF Level 4
  • Degree or National Diploma in HR or similar
Experience and Skills Requirements
  • Minimum 5-8 years’ experience as an HR Officer in the mining industry
  • Sound knowledge and experience in labour legislation in an industrial environment
  • Sound knowledge of Labour Case Law in South Africa
  • Computer Literate in MS Office (Intermediate)
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with line managers to align HR strategies with business objectives.
  • Provide expert advice on labour relations, disciplinary procedures, and compliance with the Labour Relations Act, BCEA, EE Act, and Mining Charter.
  • Lead talent acquisition, onboarding, and retention initiatives for WCPO
  • Monitor and manage employee performance, ensuring adherence to performance management processes.
  • In collaboration with the L &D officer to facilitate skills development and succession planning in line with SETA requirements and company goals.
  • Partner with SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment & Quality) teams to embed a safe, compliant work culture.
  • Support transformation and Employment Equity (EE) initiatives.
  • Manage HR reporting and workforce analytics for the site.
  • Promote positive employee engagement and wellbeing practices.
  • Assist in wage negotiations and union engagements where applicable.
  • Ensure HR policies and procedures are applied consistently across departments.
