Fruitways is a leading agri-business in South Africa. We specialise in the growing, packing and marketing of apples and pears to retailers, traders and wholesalers around the globe.

HR ADMINISTRATOR

We have an exciting career opportunity for a self-motivated, service oriented and well organised individual as a HR Administrator for Fruitways Farming. Reporting to the HR manager, you will play a vital role in supporting the Farming HR Team with a variety of generalist and administrative duties. The vacancy is based at our Glen Elgin office in Grabouw. The role will support the HR Practitioners on all our Farming units and therefore travel between various farms units will be required.

Responsibilities:
  • Capture various HR records including training attendance, disciplinary - and incapacity outcomes
  • Maintain the accuracy of the relevant HR information spreadsheets and databases
  • Participate in the recruitment process by receiving and screening applications, coordinating interviews, directly participating in interviews for junior wage level roles, and ensuring that employment contracts and other administration is completed
  • Arranging and facilitating induction sessions with the seasonal wage level employees
  • Co-ordination and administration of relevant training and development initiatives, as guided by the relevant HR Practitioners
  • Assisting the HR Practitioners as required with disciplinary, incapacity and grievance proceedings
  • Assisting with employee benefit administration including provident fund withdrawal, funeral claims and death claims
  • Provide full coordination and support service for various HR meetings (e.g. shop steward meetings, union meetings, community forums and wage negations sessions).
  • General HR administration including scanning and uploading documents on the HR drive, filing HR documents, maintaining employee files
  • Other HR generalist tasks as guided by the HR Practitioner or HR Manager

Requirements:
  • HR related Degree or National Diploma
  • 1-2 years’ work experience in an HR role or other administrative capacity
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and MS Teams)

  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and deliver on deadlines
