Job description

The main purpose of the HPE Product Manager is to manage and grow the HPE brand within the company by ensuring product knowledge, vendor compliance, marketing execution, and sales alignment.

This includes obtaining relevant certifications, maintaining vendor relationships, overseeing brand administration and reporting, executing marketing initiatives, supporting sales teams, and driving business growth through strategic programs and partnerships.

The role also focuses on optimising internal processes, coordinating training for internal teams and partners, and ensuring alignment with the vendor's strategy to maximize market share and revenue.

Performance Standards
  1. Product / Programs / Processes
  2. Understand and represent the full HPE product stack
  3. Gain all related certifications over time
  4. Understand pricing and price lists
  5. Contribute to quarterly Business Reviews with Vendor
  6. Training – Internal + Partners
  7. Ensure activities align with Vendor Strategy
  8. Understand vendor programs in detail
  9. Present vendor programs to resellers
  10. Drive growth in run rate & stock and sell business
  11. Work with all internal stakeholders to ensure smooth internal processes – update if any changes are initiated by the vendor or required for efficiency improvements.
Marketing
  1. Work with Brand Manager on Marketing plan and execution
  2. Quarterly Marketing Plan
  3. Coordinate lead management and follow-up after marketing activity
  4. Drive First Distribution / Brand Marketing Strategy
  5. Own and maintain the marketing contact database
  6. Align with vendor and brand sales strategy
  7. Support all regional sales teams to grow their contribution to HPE
  8. Design and execute sales plays (e.g., Storage / Edge / Attach Alliances)
  9. Drive Alliance partnerships
  10. Analyse and grow run rate / stock and sell the business in all regions (JHB, CPT, DBN, Africa, etc…)
  11. Increase customer breadth

Requirements
  • Internal training associated with competencies: During the first week of your employment, you'll be presented with a meticulously crafted learning map designed to seamlessly guide you through your on-the-job training experience.
  • 3-5 years of previous Product Management experience in servers & storage products
  • Technical Acumen
  • Distribution experience within the IT industry
  • Additional Skills: Self-Motivated, works well in teams, strong communication, relationship and self-management skills, takes initiative, remains calm under pressure
Physical & Office Requirements
  • Own car and valid Driver's Licence
  • Office-based environment, semi-formal dress code
  • Working hours: 08:00 – 17:00
  • Excellent English language skills, both written and verbal
  • Reliable transport
