Job Description:

Position: Housing Options and Assessment Officer (Remote working)

Pay: £17.81 per hour

Type: Full-time, temporary

We are seeking a Housing Options and Assessment Officer to provide effective casework services for customers in housing need under the Homeless Reduction Act 2017. The role involves managing customer and stakeholder expectations, delivering high standards of customer care, and dealing sensitively with a diverse customer base.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, the ability to draft complex correspondence and reports, and high-level IT skills including experience with databases and software applications for producing reports and letters.

An understanding of homelessness prevention principles, comprehensive knowledge of housing options, legislation, guidance, and caselaw is essential. The role requires working constructively with other services and agencies to achieve successful outcomes for customers.

Responsibilities include maintaining records, analyzing complex information for personal housing plans, advising colleagues and stakeholders, managing escalated customer issues, and maintaining information systems such as JIGSAW and Northgate (NEC). Contribution to system development and proficiency in ICT systems are also expected.
