Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist housekeeping by supplying rooms with clean linen, towels and carrying supplies.
• Perform deep cleaning tasks such as carpet cleaning, window washing and polishing.
• Set up guest rooms with amenities or decorations for occasions.
• Ensure mini bars are stocked and recorded.
• Set up in-room bar trolleys with serving gear as per menu.
• Transport housekeeping staff by golf carts as needed.
• Carry out rotational cleaning for all public areas and maintain equipment.
• Move furniture when required and perform porter duties.
• Assist with dispatch and reception of outsourced laundry services.
• Attend to guest requests and inquiries courteously.
• Adhere to Health and Safety standards.

Job description

Our client in Franschhoek is looking for a Housekeeping Porter to join their dynamic team.

You will excel in this role if you are flexible and able to multitask working at a faster than average speed. Your high level of attention to detail with excellent organisational skills, and the ability to learn and adapt in the environment you work in will be essential.

Main Responsibilities

• Assist housekeeping through supplying rooms with clean linen, towels, supplies and collecting dirty laundry and delivering other relevant items.
• Perform deep cleaning tasks, such as carpet cleaning, window washing, mattress cleaning, high dusting and furniture and curtain rail polishing.
• Assist with setting up guest rooms with special amenities or decorations for special occasions.
• Ensure mini bars are correctly stocked and recorded.
• Set up in-room bar trolleys correctly as per menu list with accompanying serving gear such as corkscrew, coasters, etc.
• Assist with transporting housekeepers to various areas via golf carts (company only).
• Perform rotational cleaning duties (including all public areas) and ensure that all furnishings, facilities and equipment are in good repair.
• Assist with moving furniture where required and additional duties such as porter.
• Assist with the dispatch and receiving of outsourced laundry and all functions related to this.
• Ensure guest satisfaction by attending to their requests and enquiries courteously and efficiently.
• Adhere to and maintain Health and Safety standards.
