Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Liaise with Marketing, PA's, and Social Committee to understand the requirements and timelines for internal events and important meetings.
  2. Take the lead role in ensuring preparation and execution of the requirements within the provided timelines.
  3. Keep the Facilities Manager updated on progress.
  4. Utilize and organize the Housekeeping team to meet requirements while maintaining daily tasks.
  5. Follow own cleaning schedules and checklists to ensure cleanliness.
  6. Clean specific areas regularly (e.g., bathrooms, kitchens) and complete smaller tasks like dusting and emptying trash bins.
  7. Prepare refreshments (coffee, tea, water, etc.) for managers and visitors.
  8. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including proper storage and disposal of cleaning materials.
  9. Ensure adequate supplies for cleaning and catering tasks.
  10. Carry out heavy cleaning tasks and special projects when needed.
  11. Lead and coordinate the housekeeping team for events and meetings, liaising with key role players.
  12. Follow safety protocols when using cleaning equipment and chemicals.
  13. Report maintenance or repair needs promptly.
  14. Demonstrate professionalism when interacting with colleagues and visitors.
  15. Stay updated on best practices for cleaning.

Reports to: Maintenance Manager

Desired Qualifications:

  1. Must have a good rapport and be well-spoken in English.
  2. Must be able to take instructions concerning internal events and meetings and execute accordingly.
  3. Must have previous experience being involved in formal events and meetings in the workplace.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Valid RSA identity document.
  2. Able to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  3. Able to maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance.
  4. High energy levels and focus.
  5. Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  6. Proactively cooperative and able to deal with pressure.
  7. Energetic and engaging.
  8. Able to show initiative and personal integrity.
