Job description

Hotel Receptionist position available in Cape Town.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Recdeptionist for a 5* Hotel in Cape Town to correspond with local and international guests at the property and to balance the daily revenue report.

Salary: R15 000 – R16 000 per month.

Requirements:

  • Post matric hotel school qualification would be advantageous
  • 2 years’ experience in a five-star property
  • Computer literacy
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good numeracy skills
  • High level of English proficiency
  • Be motivated, enthusiastic, and energetic
  • Be a team player, with a positive attitude
  • Be willing to work shifts
  • Be able to work under pressure
  • Own transport preferable

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Handle email requests in a professional and effective manner,
  • Handle guest inquiries in a professional and effective manner:
  • Ensure knowledge of hotel room categories and layout of the property
  • Ensure knowledge of different offerings at the property
  • Resolution of customer complaints.
  • Sense ownership.
  • Management of guest accounts:
  • Pit checks to be done on each shift daily.
  • Operate the hotel’s Property Management System: OPERA Cloud.
  • Check guest in upon arrival and check them out upon departure,
  • Operate the switchboard and direct calls,
  • Restaurant bookings and hotel reservations, and
  • Liaise effectively between departments.
