Job summary

Hospitality Hire seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician for the President Hotel in Bantry Bay, Cape Town. You will handle daily checks, preventive maintenance, and rapid repairs across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, pool systems, and safety equipment.

With at least 3 years’ hotel or commercial property maintenance experience and a guest-focused, safety-conscious approach, you will partner with front office and housekeeping to deliver exceptional service, including after-hours standby.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ hands-on maintenance experience in hotel or commercial property
• Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry and general repair work
• HVAC, kitchen equipment, pool systems, and fire & safety equipment experience beneficial
• Physically fit, reliable, and safety-conscious
• Professional, guest-centric approach with strong problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Perform daily maintenance checks and address reported faults promptly
• Conduct preventive maintenance across all hotel facilities and equipment
• Respond to guest room maintenance requests with professionalism and urgency
• Support plumbing, electrical, HVAC and pool systems operations
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, fire and emergency standards
• Maintain workshop tools, equipment and spare parts in good order
• Assist with setup and technical support for conferences and events
• Report and record all work in maintenance logbook/system
• Work closely with housekeeping and front office to ensure guest satisfaction
• Provide after-hours support on a rotational standby basis
