Job summary

The Capital Hotels, Apartments & Resorts is seeking a Facilities Manager to lead the full facilities operation across our hotel properties, including maintenance of building systems and grounds. You will manage a maintenance team, budgeting, and contractor relationships to ensure safe, compliant operations.

Ideal candidates have 5–7 years of facilities management experience, strong leadership, and hands-on problem-solving abilities with excellent communication skills for staff and guests alike.

Qualifications

• Matric required.
• 5–7 years facilities management experience, including budgeting and contractor management.
• Strong all-round facilities experience (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, generator, meters).
• Previous body corporate facilities management experience advantageous.
• Knowledge of health and safety management.
• Hands-on problem-solving approach and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently.
• Effective communication with staff and hotel guests.
• Team leadership with the ability to run multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full facilities operation, including maintenance and building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, generators) and grounds, with a maintenance team.
• Budgeting and contractor management to ensure cost efficiency and reliability.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and OHS regulations.
• Balance body corporate/sectional-title requirements where applicable.
