Job summary

Clinix Health Group (Pty) Ltd seeks a Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant to support pharmacists in dispensing and preparing medications for patients, wards and theatre. Under supervision, the incumbent prepares prescriptions, selects and compounds medications, and accurately labels medication before dispensing.

The role emphasizes hospital-based dispensing, stock control and providing health information to consumers, with experience in SAP platforms and strong computer literacy being advantageous.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent level of education.
• Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant Certificate.
• Current registration with South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
• Comprehensive knowledge of SAP (or related platform).
• Advanced level of computer literacy.
• 1-2 years hospital experience.
• Retail experience is advantageous.
• Previous Healthcare experience will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Pharmacist with preparation of prescriptions, selection, labeling and supply of medicines.
• Compound and prepare non-sterile or sterile medicines according to formulas.
• Package and re-package medicine under supervision.
• Dispense stock to wards, discharged patients and prescriptions under pharmacist supervision.
• Distribute and control stock of medications.
• Ensure ward stock issues and scripts are signed off by a pharmacist.
• Conduct cyclical counts and stock audits.
• Complete stock reports and stock receipts.
• Provide health advice and pharmacy products to consumers.
