Intercare is seeking an ambitious, talented, goal-driven and self-motivated individual to fulfil the role of Hospital Manager of Irene Physical Rehabilitation Hospital in Centurion, who will be responsible for leading and managing the hospital, ensuring high-quality care, financial sustainability, and regulatory compliance. The role involves overseeing hospital operations, patient experience, and business growth. The Hospital Manager will oversee clinical excellence, staff engagement, and operational efficiency while maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and ensuring adherence to ethical and legislative standards.

CRITICAL OUTPUTS

  1. Deliver quality customer service & patient satisfaction by fostering strong relationships with patients, professionals, and stakeholders, implementing hospital processes to ensure service excellence and patient safety, and responding to patient feedback for continuous improvement.
  2. Ensure sound operational practices by managing hospital operations in line with Intercare’s strategy, leading hospital-specific best practices, and monitoring and auditing hospital processes for high standards of clinical and operational performance.
  3. Achieve legislative compliance & clinical excellence by adhering to healthcare regulations, SANC guidelines, infection control, safety, and quality standards, and managing licensing, governance, and regulatory requirements.
  4. Drive financial sustainability & business growth through developing and implementing strategies to meet financial targets, overseeing budget management, cost control, and risk mitigation, and fostering professional relationships to promote hospital utilization and growth.
  5. Lead and develop hospital staff by ensuring engagement, performance, and alignment with Intercare’s values, driving training, mentorship, continuous development initiatives, and overseeing staffing levels and human capital processes.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: Diploma in General Nursing / B Cur Degree or relevant nursing qualification with SANC registration.
  • Experience:
  • 5-10 years of management experience in the private healthcare sector, OR
  • 5 years of nursing experience with at least 2 years in a management role.
  • Additional Requirements:
  • Code 8 driver’s license and own transport.
  • Computer proficiency (MS Office).
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Sound knowledge of healthcare legislation, financial management, and business principles.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment with on-call and overtime availability as required.
