Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Childminder and Educational Assistant in Centurion, Gauteng. The role focuses on daily care, supervision, and developmental enrichment of young children in a home-based environment.

The successful candidate will foster a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning atmosphere, plan engaging activities, support daily routines, and communicate with families to ensure high-quality childcare and ongoing development.

Qualifications

• Experience in childcare roles such as nanny or preschool assistant.
• Strong understanding of child development principles.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Patience, reliability and a nurturing personality.
• Ability to plan age-appropriate educational activities.
• Knowledge of child safety protocols and emergency procedures.
• First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
• Must reside in or be able to commute to Centurion, Gauteng.
• Willingness to undergo background checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision and care for children in a home environment.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities, games and crafts.
• Assist with daily routines including feeding, napping, hygiene and dressing.
• Maintain a clean and safe play and living space.
• Communicate progress and concerns with parents.
• Ensure meals and snacks meet dietary guidelines.
• Manage transitions like nap times and outdoor play.
• Respond to individual needs with patience and understanding.
• Uphold high standards of childcare and professionalism.
