Job description

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Field Technician to join our Security Solutions Division at Forbtech Group of Companies . The ideal candidate will be responsible for the onsite installation, configuration, and maintenance of Hikvision CCTV and Access Control systems. You will work with advanced security technologies, perform technical support duties, and ensure high-quality service delivery to our clients across various sectors.

Key Responsibilities :

Install and configure Hikvision IP and analogue cameras (Dome, Bullet, PTZ)

Setup and commission NVRs, DVRs, and remote viewing applications (Hik-Connect, iVMS)

Install and program access control terminals : biometric, facial recognition, and card-based

Perform structured cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, RG59) and terminate connectors professionally

Integrate systems with alarms, intercoms, boom gates, and control panels

Configure routers, PoE switches, and wireless bridges for remote access

Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance

Complete job cards, take installation photos, and submit project documentation

Provide basic client training on system usage and mobile access platforms

Adhere to safety protocols and represent the company professionally onsite

Requirements

Minimum Requirements :

Matric (Grade 12)

2+ years hands-on experience in CCTV and Access Control installations

Experience with Hikvision product range (cameras, intercoms, AX Pro, terminals)

Sound knowledge of IP networking, camera configurations, and cable installations

Valid driver’s license and own transport

Clear criminal record (mandatory)

Ability to use power tools and work at heights

Preferred Skills :

Experience with HikCentral and remote monitoring control rooms

Fiber optic termination (advantageous)

Understanding of POPIA compliance in camera deployments

Familiarity with job tracking systems (e.g., Zoho Desk)

Soft Skills :

Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic abilities
