Position Overview:

We seek dynamic individuals to join our team. Reports To: Assistant Principal or Principal. Purpose of Role: SPARK Schools teachers drive student achievement by maintaining high expectations for classroom culture, behavior, and academic growth for all scholars.

FET Phase English Home Language Educators are content specialists in English language and literacy. High school FET educators equip scholars with knowledge and tools for matriculation and work collaboratively on inquiry-based curricula. FET Phase Educators are vital to our culture and commitment to rigorous, engaging learning experiences.

Responsibilities:

1. Plan, teach, and co-teach face-to-face and distance lessons, including academic and club activities.
2. Collaborate with colleagues to develop engaging learning experiences and individualized behavior and learning plans.
3. Participate in all scheduled professional development sessions.
4. Create and analyze assessments to monitor student progress and growth.
5. Use data to inform interventions and support low-performing scholars or extend high performers.
6. Lead social and emotional development sessions and reflections.
7. Support scholars through targeted programs based on performance.
8. Participate in place-based and career pathways education as required.
9. Develop and implement behavior management strategies aligned with SPARK culture.
10. Communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and stakeholders.
11. Maintain professionalism at all events and interactions.
12. Create a high-achieving, supportive environment where scholars feel valued.
13. Promote SPARK's vision and mission within the community.
14. Implement crisis management strategies and adhere to child protection policies.
15. Attend Saturday events and parent meetings.
16. Submit student results data as required.

Qualifications and Criteria:

• Fluent in English.
• Completed B.Ed or PGCE in English.
• 2-3 years of high school teaching experience, preferably with Grades 11-12.
• SACE registration.
• Clear criminal record.
