About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Healthcare Environmental Services Technician to join their team in Randburg . This critical role ensures that clinical and non-clinical areas within the healthcare facility are maintained at the highest standards of cleanliness and infection control. You will be responsible for implementing specialized cleaning protocols, managing waste, and utilizing appropriate disinfectants and equipment to create a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This position requires a compassionate individual with a strong understanding of healthcare sanitation best practices and a commitment to public health.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform specialized cleaning and disinfection of patient rooms, operating theaters, laboratories, and common areas.
• Adhere strictly to infection control policies and procedures, including protocols for handling biohazardous materials.
• Operate and maintain specialized cleaning equipment, such as UV disinfection units and industrial-grade sterilizers.
• Manage waste disposal, including regulated medical waste, according to established guidelines.
• Restock cleaning supplies and ensure the proper maintenance of cleaning equipment.
• Respond promptly to cleaning needs in emergent situations, such as spills or contamination events.

Requirements

• Previous experience as an Environmental Services Technician in a healthcare setting is highly preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of infection control principles and healthcare sanitation standards.
• Certification in Healthcare Environmental Services (CHES) or equivalent is a plus.
• Ability to handle cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and effectively.
