Health & Safety Officer (SACPCMP) - George - Western Cape

Job Title : Health & Safety Officer

Location : Thembalethu East, George

Project : Construction of a Concrete Reservoir & Tower (50% complete, with potential future projects in the area)

Job Description : We are seeking a qualified and experienced Health & Safety Officer to join our team for the ongoing construction project in Thembalethu East, George. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with health and safety regulations on-site and contribute to the safety culture within the construction environment.

Key Responsibilities :

• Oversee the implementation and monitoring of health and safety protocols at the construction site.
• Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation and regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of safety-related activities, incidents, and inspections.
• Provide safety training and awareness to site personnel.
• Ensure the proper use of safety equipment and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
• Assist with accident investigations and report findings to management.

Minimum Requirements :

• Registration with SACPCMP (South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions).
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a Health & Safety Officer role within the construction industry.
• Proficiency in computer literacy (Outlook, Basic Word & Excel).
• Well-mannered , with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s license – Code 08 or above.
• The project involves the construction of a concrete reservoir and tower.
• The project is currently over 50% complete .
• There are additional construction projects in the area that may require involvement.
