Job Opportunity: Health & Safety Practitioner - Pr CHSA

A national organisation is seeking a Health & Safety Practitioner - Pr CHSA to join their team in Gauteng.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Demonstrate detailed knowledge of construction health and safety requirements at operational levels: CHSO, CHSM, and Pr CHSA.
  2. Support construction management by identifying legal requirements and monitoring implementation controls.
  3. Mentor, coach, and guide construction health and safety representatives.
  4. Anticipate, identify, and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices.
  5. Design hazard control systems, methods, procedures, and programs.
  6. Implement and advise on hazard controls and programs.
  7. Measure, audit, and evaluate hazard control effectiveness.
  8. Analyze incidents to identify system deficiencies.
Qualifications:

Recognised Health and Safety qualification registered with SAQA, including international qualifications evaluated by SAQA.

Professional Development & Registration:
  • Compliance with SACPCMP's Continuing Professional Development (CPD) policy.
  • Registration with SACPCMP and voluntary associations such as SAIOSH, MBA, ACHASM, IIRSM.
Knowledge Demonstration:
  • Regulatory requirements and health and safety management systems.
  • Hazard identification, risk management, and safe work practices.
  • Emergency preparedness, behavioural safety, and documentation standards.
Construction Health and Safety Management:
  • Human resources planning, occupational hygiene, communication, documentation, emergency planning, safe procedures, and training evaluation.
Performance Measurement & Monitoring:
  • Compliance audits, legal inspections, reporting, trend analysis, and corrective actions.
Continual Improvement:
  • Principles of continuous improvement, change management, and corrective actions verification.
Desired Skills:
  • SACPCMP, SAIOSH, Pr CHSA, SAQA, construction safety, hazard management.
