Job description

Our client, a well-established and progressive engineering company based in Paarl, seeks to employ a qualified Safety Officer / Specialist to join this progressive and expanding professional team.

Please note that a National Diploma in Safety, SAMTRAC certification is required and NEBOSH is highly preferred, coupled with experience in the engineering, manufacturing or fabrication

POSITION INFO :

• You will have a tertiary qualification in Safety Management, coupled with SAMTRAC certification (NEBOSH is highly advantageous), and 3-5 years experience in safety management within an engineering, manufacturing or fabrication industry
• You will have in-depth working knowledge of implementing safety programmes, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring OSH and ISO 45001 compliance.
• You will have experience in conducting training for new and existing staff, organising workshops for courses and develop specific safety communication materials for the various plants within the group.
• You will have effective problem solving skills, communicate at all levels in a efficient manner and be fluent in English and Afrikaans both written and verbal.
• You must have a valid driver’s licence, own car and a clear criminal and credit record
