Key Performance Areas:
- Ensure compliance and governance of Health and Safety regulations.
- Conduct safety inspections and audits regularly.
- Compile annual risk assessments.
- Conduct regular fire prevention inspections.
- Ensure all safety signs and notices are prominently displayed at all sites.
- Maintain machinery in good working order in accordance with OHS requirements.
- Maintain good housekeeping principles.
- Ensure all H&S reps conduct monthly inspections of their work areas.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, including the OHS Act and municipal by-laws, as well as COVID protocols.
- Ensure policies and procedures are in place and adhered to at all sites.
- Adhere to group health and safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain site emergency evacuation plans.
- Maintain the accident and incident investigation program.
- Keep all registers and checklists updated.
- Manage and coordinate administration related to H&S.
- Submit and maintain IOD claims with WCA and RMA.
- Maintain sound OHS records at all sites.
- Issue warnings for non-adherence.
- Compile monthly OHS reports.
- Develop and maintain relationships at branch level.
- Conduct job observations on high-risk activities and provide feedback.
- Chair quarterly safety meetings with safety reps, line managers, and 16.2 representatives.
- Conduct toolbox talks at branch level.
- Coordinate all H&S training for employees.
- Ensure all legal appointments are fulfilling their duties.
- Inform and update branch management and group executive management on compliance levels.
- Ensure all suppliers and external consultants adhere to group policies and procedures.
