About the Role

Our client is searching for a dynamic and experienced Head Tennis Professional to lead their vibrant tennis program in Cape Town . This role is critical in enhancing the club's tennis offerings, developing player talent across all age groups and skill levels, and promoting a positive and engaging tennis culture. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality coaching, managing court schedules, organizing tournaments, and contributing to the overall member experience within the Leisure & Sports domain. The ideal candidate is a passionate ambassador for the sport, committed to excellence and member satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive tennis curriculum for junior and adult players, including private lessons, group clinics, and camps.
• Organize and execute club tournaments, leagues, social events, and inter-club competitions to foster engagement and community.
• Recruit, train, and supervise assistant tennis professionals and court staff, ensuring high standards of instruction and service.
• Manage all aspects of court reservations, stringing services, and pro shop inventory for tennis equipment and apparel.
• Promote the club's tennis programs to existing and prospective members, actively driving participation and revenue growth.
• Maintain an up-to-date understanding of tennis coaching methodologies and industry best practices to continuously improve program quality.

Requirements

• Professional certification from a recognized tennis coaching association (e.g., PTR, USPTA).
• Minimum of 5 years of coaching experience, with at least 2 years in a Head Professional or senior coaching role.
• Proven track record of developing players from beginner to advanced competitive levels.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with a passion for teaching and player development.
• Strong organizational abilities to manage schedules, events, and staff effectively.
• Experience with tennis operations, including court maintenance, inventory management, and customer service.
