The City of Cape Town is seeking an Engineering Manager to oversee operations at the Cape Town Stadium. The role requires a qualified engineer with a background in asset management and project engineering, aiming for effective resource management and performance optimization. TCOE: R1 245 505 PER ANNUM
Please note that this position is an entity position and will be appointed on the entity conditions of service and not the City of Cape Town conditions of service
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree: BSc Eng. or B Eng. (Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering)
• Professional registration (Pr. Eng.) with ECSA
• 8 Years, with three or more years in a supervisory/managerial role
• A relevant master’s degree and registration with other relevant professional bodies in the built environment, asset management or project management space will be considered an advantage
• Computer literacy. Proficiency in the use of: Discipline Specific Design Software; MS Project/ Primavera P6 Microsoft Office.
• BIM knowledge and skills
• Asset Management skills and associated software proficiency.
• A valid code EB drivers’ licence
• Must be able to work outside normal working hours during event days
Key Performance Areas:
• Provides asset management and project engineering services to Cape Town Stadium with the responsibility of oversight of the electrical, mechanical, civil, and structural, cleaning and security assets of the stadium and surrounding areas.
• Provides independent, specialised, technical engineering advisory services to support Stadium property development, project management, and contract and risk management considerations.
• Establish and maintain appropriate asset management systems aligned with cidms/sans 55000/iso 55000)
• Provide input on Operational and Technical departments/areas in the development of the strategic business plan and organisational development plan
• Management of the technical operations teams; ensuring optimal facilities maintenance, infrastructure management, safety management and ICT management
• Manage technical and operational projects and ensure the projects and completed in time, within budget and achieve the required outcomes
• Maintain a balance of focus on threats and opportunities with appropriate risk management actions
• Establishing and implementing work procedures, standards and performance outputs
