Sales Operations Manager (Online and Admissions)
At The IIE’s Varsity College, we're on a mission to continue leading in private higher education in South Africa. We are seeking a results-driven Head: Student Recruitment (Distance Undergraduate) to lead and expand our sales efforts. This role involves driving student growth, managing a high-performing sales team, and developing strategic plans to meet targets. The successful candidate will report directly to the Sales Operations Manager and play a key role in shaping our sales organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Sales Target Planning, Management and Achievement:
- Designs the approach and operationalizes the undergraduate distance student recruitment team and sales processes.
- Plans and manages the sales pipeline and sets targets across all student advisors.
- Sets and manages undergraduate targets with the Sales Operations Manager.
- Designs review processes for assessing target achievement and implements remedial actions.
- Implements and enforces student recruitment policies and processes.
- Contributes to overall student recruitment planning through senior management participation.
- Formulates action plans to boost student numbers for undergraduate distance qualifications.
- Ensures semester and annual targets are consistently met.
Sales Events, Marketing and Brand Awareness
- Coordinates and executes all sales events for undergraduate distance student recruitment.
- Represents The IIE at functions to promote the brand.
- Manages escalations and complaints, ensuring high customer service standards.
- Maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring they understand our programs and products.
- Ensures the sales team maintains up-to-date product knowledge.
- Coordinates with other departments for smooth customer service delivery.
- Ensures compliance with corporate identity standards.
Reporting
- Prepares accurate reports with insights and recommendations for the national office.
- Monitors portals and systems for up-to-date information.
- Analyzes registration data, identifies trends, and suggests improvements.
- Conducts post-registration analysis and forecasts future sales pipelines.
Student Recruitment Administration
- Monitors data integrity across operational systems and implements corrective actions.
- Ensures accurate and timely processing of admissions.
- Handles SIS escalations and queries efficiently.
- Ensures adherence to administration policies and accurate record-keeping.
Human Capital Management
- Motivates and manages the sales team to meet targets.
- Ensures correct application of enquiry and administration procedures.
- Assesses service standards, provides training, and monitors performance.
- Supports team development and career growth.
- Conducts orientation and ongoing training for staff.
- Implements performance management processes and addresses poor performance.
- Conducts team and individual meetings to track progress and implement corrective actions.
Call Centre Management
- Hires, trains, mentors, and supervises call centre staff.
- Analyzes metrics and improves call centre operations.
- Addresses customer concerns and complaints.
- Prepares performance reports and recommendations.
- Ensures data integrity and implements corrective measures.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:
- Advanced Diploma or Bachelor's Degree; postgraduate qualification advantageous.
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years management and 5 years sales experience.
Working Hours:
- Monday to Friday: 08:00 - 17:00
- Alternate Saturdays as required.
