Job description

Purpose:

A financial services company is seeking a Head: Social Impact and Reporting who will be responsible to lead the strategic direction, measurement, analysis, and reporting of the social impact generated by the company’s projects and programs; to quantify the social, environmental, and economic value created, ensuring that the organisation can make data-driven decisions to enhance its social initiatives and demonstrate value to stakeholders; ensure alignment of the social impact measurement with the company’s strategic goals and transparency and accountability in reporting.

Key Job Outputs:

  • Develop and implement the strategic vision for social impact measurement and reporting within the organisation by providing strategic direction.
  • Lead the creation of policies and frameworks that support effective social impact measurement and reporting in-line with the Group strategy.
  • Engage with senior leadership, board members, and key stakeholders to align social impact strategies with the company’s goals to ensure effective reporting.
  • Create and implement strategies to gather relevant social impact data from various sources, including surveys, interviews, and secondary data for effective and accurate reporting.
  • Oversee the maintenance and management of databases to ensure accurate and up-to-date information, enabling efficient data retrieval and analysis.
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data through regular audits and validation processes for accurate and transparent reports.
  • Lead detailed SROI analyses to evaluate the social, environmental and economic outcomes of projects, using established frameworks and methodologies.
  • Provide a clear understanding of the value generated relative to the investment made by calculating the cost-benefit ratio of social initiatives.
  • Conduct scenario analyses to assess the potential impact of different strategies and interventions.
  • Create comprehensive reports that present social impact findings in a clear and accessible manner, tailored to different audiences, including funders, partners and internal teams.
  • Develop engaging presentations to communicate key findings and insights, using visual aids and storytelling techniques to enhance understanding.
  • Document methodologies, assumptions, and calculations used in SROI analyses to ensure transparency and reproducibility.
  • Ensure adherence to key ESG policies through developing and advising on integrating best practices.
  • Oversee the systematic collection of ESG data and metrics throughout the Enterprise wide with a goal to drive success against goals and measure effectiveness of ESG programs.
  • Collaborate with senior management to integrate SROI findings into strategic planning and decision making processes, ensuring that social impact considerations are embedded in organisational strategies.
  • Offer evidence-based recommendations to improve social impact, based on analysis and insights derived from SROI studies.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and frameworks that support effective social impact measurement and reporting.
  • Keep abreast of the latest trends and best practices in social impact measurement and SROI, ensuring that the organisation remains at the forefront of the field.
  • Continuously improve data collection, analysis, and reporting processes, leveraging new technologies and methodologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Explore innovative approaches to social impact measurement, including the use of advanced analytics, machine learning, and other emerging technologies.
  • Ensure that SROI analyses are integrated with other reporting tools and frameworks used by the organisation.
  • Develop and customise reporting tools to meet the specific needs of the organisation and its stakeholders.
  • Provide training and support to staff and partners on the use of various reporting tools, ensuring consistency and accuracy in reporting.
  • Manage team effectively and efficiently across the HR value chain, including recruitment, performance management, retention of critical staff, succession planning and coaching and talent management.

Qualifications:

  • Essential: Professional Qualifications/Honour’s Degree.
  • Preferred: Advanced degrees or certifications in impact measurement, social impact assessment.

Experience:

  • 6 – 7 years.
  • Public Affairs.

Salary: Market related.
