Job Description

To drive provincial Standard Bank Financial Consultancy (SBFC) objectives within laid down regulatory and Standard Bank Group policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Drive provincial strategy to deliver on SBFC’s financial goals and initiatives.
  2. Lead, coach and manage a high-performing team of Regional Managers and Financial Planners.
  3. Conduct sales and performance reviews, providing monthly reports on financial drivers.
  4. Provide strategic input into product development and enablement activities based on provincial insights.
  5. Leverage internal and external networks to unlock new business opportunities and improve service delivery.
  6. Analyse customer base and optimise SBFC footprint across the province.
  7. Lead all risk and compliance efforts, acting as key liaison with internal stakeholders (e.g., RCC, Internal Audit, Enablement).
  8. Champion continuous improvement in sales productivity, client experience, and operational efficiency.
  9. Serve as Key Individual (KI) for SBFC under FAIS regulations within the province.
  10. Ensure FAIS compliance across the province.
  11. Promote a culture of accountability, recognition, and professionalism.
  12. Stay updated on PPB and Group business drivers (e.g., PPB, Liberty, Stanlib, Offshore solutions).

Qualifications

Type of Qualification: First Degree

Field of Study: Business Commerce

Certified Financial Planner (CFP) Accreditation - Advantageous

Experience Required

Personal and Private Banking

8-10 years Experience in all the product categories in terms of FAIS for SBFC. Experience in managing a team of financial planners. Experience in acting as KI for a range of FAIS categories. Understanding of franchise models.
