Job Description
Accountability: Strategy Formulation & Execution
- Contribute to the formulation of the Technology strategy to ensure it achieves its short-term, medium-term, and long-term goals concerning commercial management and information technology.
- Formulate the function objectives aligned with the bank’s overall goals, collaborating with leadership teams across Operations, Information Technology, Change Enablement, Digital and Service Transformation, Procurement, and Governance and Control.
- Participate in contract negotiations, acting as a link between Technology, Finance, Procurement, and Legal departments.
- Translate the bank’s strategy into clear commercial objectives.
- Monitor team and individual performance against targets and KPIs.
- Provide regular reports on productivity and performance indicators to senior management.
- Identify productivity initiatives and develop business cases to support strategic decision-making.
- Engage with stakeholders across various functions, including country CIOs, COOs, and procurement teams, regarding commercial initiatives and strategic contracts.
Accountability: Stakeholder Management
- Promote and manage collaborative engagement with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, clients, service providers, partners, and auditors.
- Represent the ARO Technology's interests in commercial management and IT issues, liaising with relevant stakeholders.
Accountability: People Management
- Coach, mentor, and manage the team to achieve commercial objectives and support colleague development in cost optimization, procurement procedures, and business case development.
- Embed values and behaviors that support the function’s objectives and the bank’s strategy.
Accountability: Risk, Compliance, and Governance
- Ensure compliance with Absa Group Risk and Compliance requirements within the commercial management domain, aligned with the set risk appetite.
- Fulfill governance activities, including tracking and reporting.
- Identify potential risks within the ARO Technology contract landscape and implement measures to minimize exposure.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology
