While overseeing all levels of production in the bakery / pastry kitchens, you will lead and manage a team of pastry chefs and assistants, ensuring the smooth operation of the pastry kitchen.
You will also design and execute a seasonal pastry menu, creating new and exciting desserts that align with the restaurant's concept.
You will maintain the highest standards of quality, consistency, and presentation across all pastries and desserts as well as oversee inventory, ordering supplies, and managing the pastry department's budget efficiently.
Providing mentorship, guidance, and training for the pastry team to foster their growth will ensure all staff meet high culinary standards.
Ensuring that all food handling and cleanliness procedures comply with health and safety regulations will form part of the role.
Along with your Matric Certification, you have a Culinary Diploma with experience as a Pastry Chef, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in a fine-dining or high-end pastry environment.
Your deep passion for pastry artistry and eye for detail and creativity will see you far in this role.
You are an expert in modern pastry techniques and can work with a variety of ingredients.
You have your own transport.
You will bring accuracy, decisiveness, and a commitment to quality in everything you do, ensuring tasks are completed with precision and care.
Your ability to delegate and direct teams effectively will help drive performance, while your strong planning and presenting skills will ensure clear communication of results.
With a results-focused mindset and exceptional collaboration skills, you will play a key role in uniting departments and achieving organisational goals.
