Job description

Overview:

Warehousing management

  • Take responsibility for outcomes associated with warehousing cost, quality, inventory, delivery, risks, and shifts.
  • Monitor and guide in the management of materials, including receipting, storage, stocking, picking and dispatching processes.
  • Ensure that pre- and post-storage testing is conducted appropriately.
  • Ensure appropriate controls are in place for effective logistics and quality control functions in warehouses.

Planning (S&OP) management

  • Oversee production scheduling processes, ensuring management to manufacturing capacity constraints and optimal stock availability.
  • Guide in the management of short/ medium term capacity constraints.

Distribution and order management

  • Oversee key logistics management functions, including material flow management systems, transportation modes, routing, equipment, and frequency, carrier management processes, product import or export processes, distribution warehouse operation, to ensure achievement of cost, productivity, accuracy, or timeliness objectives.
  • Guide risk management programs to ensure continuity of supply.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes.
  • Review and approve export permits.
  • Investigate potential risks and other matters of significance relating to Logistics and lead the implementation of solutions.

Materials supply management

  • Guide in the management of and take overall responsibility for outcomes associated with materials supply management.

Organizational Support & Function Management

  • Participate in the development and lead the implementation of the strategic vision and direction for business-critical functions across SA, as well as all related plans, policies and procedures.
  • Perform financial and human resources functions to ensure optimal management of function and reporting units and their leaders.
  • Manage collaboration and coordination between reporting units.
  • Maintain and support positive customer engagements and problem resolution.
  • Represent the department during inspections and audits and resolve any internal risk audit findings.

Background/experience

Skills Required

  • 10 years’ related experience with strong supply chain experience in manufacturing
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in Logistics or a related field.
