What You'll Bring:

What You Will Do:

  1. The Director, Strategy & Planning, will identify, evaluate, and develop new go-to-market strategies focusing on opportunities to grow TransUnion's Africa business organically and through acquisition.
  2. The incumbent will lead the business planning process, ongoing planning activities, and development of Africa's strategy.
  3. The S&P Director will collaborate with the local and global leadership teams to facilitate strategy and planning sessions and enable global IP transfer.
  4. The role will form part of the Africa executive leadership team, collaborating and supporting the Africa leadership team to plan and develop long-term goals and short-term objectives.
  5. The individual will act in a chief of staff capacity, running the CEO's office, preparing board documents, CEO reports, and preparing leaders for key stakeholder events.
  6. Leads execution of business plans and critical initiatives.
  7. Manage a team of highly skilled strategy professionals.
  8. Conducts primary and secondary research and analysis to inform market entry/market expansion opportunities.
  9. Translates insights into material for senior TransUnion stakeholders.
  10. Tracks competition and identifies threats and opportunities.
  11. Provides a critical thinking forum for local leadership.
  12. Builds trusted relationships with product and industry experts and other key decision-makers to gather insights and develop actionable go-to-market plans.
  13. Collaborates with the broader International markets to create and maintain business plans with clear and measurable targets.
  14. Develops and delivers senior-level presentations for short-term and long-range plans.
  15. Designs, facilitates, and manages the strategic planning process in line with business objectives.
  16. Drives the pre-and post-meeting work involved for all planning sessions.
  17. Supports business case development for new opportunities and partners with regional Product heads, Centre of Excellence heads, and global knowledge experts to facilitate and enable import/export of global IP.
  18. Researches, analyses, and builds content to identify and support acquisition opportunities and facilitates the development and execution of integration plans for any such acquisitions.
  19. Continuously assesses cross-industry best practices, new business models, and techniques to enhance current International planning practices.
  20. Integrates creativity into strategy formulation and execution.
  21. Executes ad hoc strategic analysis for the leadership team.
  22. Gathers competitive intelligence on an ongoing basis, monitors strategy, and predicts competitive responses for key competitors.
  23. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Impact You'll Make:

What You Will Bring:

  1. An MBA degree with global strategy experience or experience with strategy consulting would be preferred.
  2. At least 5-8 years of related experience, driving strategic initiatives, including M&A.
  3. High degree of intellectual curiosity with a successful track record of driving ideas to implementation.
  4. Experience collaborating cross-functionally within an organization.
  5. Financial and/or credit industry subject matter expertise/proficiency.
  6. Knowledge about the credit reporting industry or International business planning experience.
  7. Must have business planning experience along with strong facilitation skills.
  8. A high degree of computer literacy and expertise is required.
  9. Ability to work independently or as part of a dynamic team in a rapidly changing environment.
  10. Good project management capabilities and high attention to detail; comfortable working under deadlines and producing key deliverables.
  11. Sound business judgment and excellent problem-solving and influencing skills.
  12. Proficient financial, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  13. Proven ability to quickly grasp industry and business-wide concepts in order to assess implications to drive actions and capitalize on opportunities.
  14. Excellent communication and presentation skills with experience in providing crisp, insightful information to executive teams.

This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
