Energy Vault is seeking a strategic Head of Sales in Gauteng to lead sales initiatives and drive revenue growth in the energy sector. This role includes responsibilities for managing client relationships, developing sales plans, and contributing directly to company profitability. Qualifications

  • Proven experience in sales leadership within power and energy sector.
  • Minimum of 7 - 10 years’ experience in relevant industries (Power & Energy, Mining, Renewable Energy).
  • Deep understanding of power maintenance and electrical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the department to achieve revenue targets focusing on performance and growth.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies, balancing inbound and outbound efforts.
  • Oversee the full sales process from lead generation to deal closure.
  • Manage key client relationships, especially in strategic opportunities.
  • Drive customer-first approach ensuring quality interactions.
  • Support customer retention through strategic engagement and feedback.
  • Monitor pipeline activity and ensure accurate sales reporting.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Leadership to align sales with business objectives.
  • Coach and develop the sales team for performance improvement.
  • Analyze performance metrics to inform ongoing growth strategies.

Job description

Our client a specialized solutions and maintenance of electrical infrastructure in the energy sector is seeking for a strategic and results-oriented Head of Sales to lead the sales department and drive revenue growth. Responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, managing a high-performing team and aligning sales initiatives with the company’s overall business objectives.

They looking for someone with proven experience in sales leadership, preferably within the power and energy or electrical utility services sector and a strong track record of delivering results through a data-driven and client-focused approach.


In order to be considered the following is required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing or Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or related field (preferred)
  • Minimum of 7 - 10 years’ experience with Power & Energy (SOEs, MOEs, OEMs), Mining, Renewable Energy, Transportation or Petrochemical industries
  • Deep understanding of the power maintenance and electrical infrastructure sectors
  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to design and execute sales plans
  • Exceptional negotiation, presentation and closing skills
  • Proficiency in CRM tools and sales analytics
  • Strong leadership, team development and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • High commercial acumen and understanding of revenue drivers in a service-based business

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the department to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets, with a primary focus on short-term performance and long-term growth
  • Develop and implement proactive and reactive sales strategies, balancing inbound lead response with outbound prospecting, cold calling and relationship building
  • Oversee the full sales process from lead generation and qualification to proposal, negotiation and deal closure
  • Manage key client relationships directly, especially in high-value or strategic opportunities
  • Drive a customer-first approach by ensuring consistent, high-quality interactions across all touchpoints
  • Support customer retention and satisfaction efforts through strategic engagement and feedback
  • Use CRM tools to monitor pipeline activity, track customer interactions, and ensure accurate sales forecasting and reporting
  • Collaborate with Operations, Finance and Executive Leadership to align sales targets with broader business objectives
  • Coach, mentor and develop the sales team, driving accountability, capability growth and performance culture
  • Analyse performance metrics such as revenue closed, lead-to-sale ratio, average deal size, sales cycle velocity and client retention to inform ongoing improvement
  • Take full accountability for sales revenue generation and growth, contributing directly to overall company profitability
